Wonderful Day! - We were picked up from the cruise port at Celukan Bawang by Aim, who was a wonderful guide and driver. We drove almost an hour and 45 min to the... read more area to get the boat for Menjangan island. It was a very small boat and not fancy, and the ride to the marine park took about 30 min. We snorkeled from the boat and it was a little difficult getting in and out of the boat with a small wooden ladder that didn’t have many steps. Once in the water, the snorkeling was the best we’ve done anywhere in the world! Great visibility and beautiful coral and tons of fish, many of which we had never seen before. It was kind of a slow drift snorkel and the guide told us which way to go and to stay behind him. It was nice because the boat followed us and we didn’t have to swim back to the boat fighting any current. He was great to point out interesting things and even dove down a few times with our underwater camera to get a close up photo of a lionfish and “Nemo”. He constantly checked on us to make sure we were OK while in the water and before entering the water he went over which hand signals to use for certain communications. We then went to a stop for a simple sandwich box lunch - then to another snorkel stop before returning. It was the absolute BEST snorkeling ever and would highly recommend.

The guides were also very friendly and showed us a variety of different marine life which we would not find without them!
